SINGLE-PASS AEROBIC SAND FILTERS
For further treatment of gray water, effluent is collected in a tank from there a gravity dosing device or pump is used to dose intermittently over a bed of sand, from were it will percolate to a sump and by pump or gravity disposed of into a land application system.

The treatment process through the filters underlay the same principle as the effluent percolate through the filter, oxygen is drawn into the filter media to supply microorganisms and bacteria attached to the media. The effluent is so treated by biological, chemical and physical process.
Suspended solids are removed by mechanical straining, and used by microorganisms and bacteria for growth and reproduction.

Since Wastewater leaves a Sand Filter System as a high quality effluent, the soil in the land application system should greatly improve in the long term acceptance rate of the effluent.

Sand Filter may also be retro-fitted into existing systems that have failed because of excessive loading with solids.

SAND FILTERS

Sand Filters are an effective way to treat waste water for an On-Site application. Essentially this could be referred to as vertical wetlands, as the effluent percolates through various horizons of filter materials, like through the substrate of a Reed Bed without the aquatic plants.

RETICULATION AEROBIC SAND FILTERS
Effluent is collected in a tank and pumped intermittently over the bed of sand, from were it will percolate through the sand to the sump, the so treated effluent is returned to the tank for reticulation. A Diversion Valve is placed in the return line to the tank and part of the effluent is disposed of into a land application system.
